Hey everyone!

 

I havent kept a training blog up for a while! I want to share training and races with you as the season unfolds.  I have had a Great summer of base training, and now Im focused on getting some good races and some PR's in!  SO I'll keep this updated everyday, and every race!

I welcome everyone to leave their workouts and comments!

 

10/18/2010-- 10 miles easy today! Felt nice and relaxed! Today was one of those beautiful, scenic days that remind you why you love running so much.. amazing!

 

10/19/2010-- Today was a good threshold run.  2 mile warm w/ drills,  4.5 mile tempo rolling hills @ 22:38,  2 mile cool down w/ drills.  Starting feeling stronger as the miles progressed.  I think that everything is unfolding great! Elevation: 6,800-7,300ft

10/20/2010-- Today was just easy 9 miles.  Felt good! Toward the end I felt a little sluggish.  Couldn't really get a lot of sleep the night before, but great run! Only Three weeks til Gabriel's here!!!  

 

10/21/2010--  good run today.  Felt great, it is starting to get cold here in the mornings.  Winter is just against around the corner.  It should be exciting this winter racing and building miles.  Thinking about hitting say no to drugs 5k Dec 5th, but we'll see.  I was first thinking of running Rock n Roll half, but Im not feeling it as much.  

 

10/22/2010--  Great workout today for sure.   2 mile warm -12*400 meters @ 67-68 sec 1 min recovery. -2 mile cool down.  felt strong really great rhythm work.  altitude @6800 ft.  Good work today.  The cold is coming fast! 

 

10/23/2010--   Today was great was a good one.  rainy and cold out, but still managed 10 miles at a good clip.  I felt relaxed and enjoyed the mountains. Getting ready for some good races!! Feeling pretty fit and quick.  

 

10/24/2010-- Solid run today.  Went out in the rain for a 9 miler, mostly uphill.  Crazy weather for sure.  Winter is def around the corner, and its been crazy here! I woke up this morning, peaked through the blinds, and dreaded the run for about a second.  I thought about the run I had to do, and was pretty stoked.  9 miles that pretty much runs at a nice uphill.  Some parts are steady, others are rough, and steep.  Felt pretty good! Nice threshold run for sure.  Ended the run with drills and core.

 

10/26/2010--  Solid workout today! Winter is here for sure.  It's snowing like CRAZY here.  Today I had a 2 mile warm up, Drills, 12*400m repeats @ 68-70 sec w/ 1 min running recovery.  2 mile cool down, drills.  Good day at the office! Snow here is getting really crazy! 15 days til Gabriel is here!!!

 

10/27/2010--  Solid run today.  Really cold out there this morning.  I think it was about 30 degrees when I went out the door.  Anywaysss, I ran an easy 10 miles.  felt really good and comfortable in 65 min.  Followed by drills and core.  Feeling pretty fit! I pray that I can stay healthy and keep everything consistent.  I cant say that I enjoyed the cold today...I had a nephew come into the world this morning!! Excited about that! Hope all the best!

 

 10/28/2010--  today was a good day.  A little chaotic but good:) We started out with a solid run in the AM.  ran about 10 miles/ with light surges on the uphills.  I felt good, although I had to remind myself to hold back a little, for mananas workout.  So great day.  

Also, I am in the process of putting together a Dogsled race here to benefit the Raramuri in Mexico.  At this point it's up to the city counsel to give the race a "go".  So if you could send prayers and good vibes our way, that would be amazing!! I'll keep you updated!

10/29/2010--  Today ws soild. 2 mile warm up, Drills,  12*400 1*800 w 1 min recovery 400'a@ 68 1 min recovery. one final 800m 30 after 30 sec recov@ 2:15. 2 mile cool down.  drills.  core.  The workout felt great, and smooth I feel like I can run those all day.  Just wanted to get rhythm work in.  So not bad. altitude @ 6800 ft.

 

10/30/2010--  nice 8 mile run.   just out and enjoying the weather :) rainy but good.  Hope everyones run went welll!

 

10/31/2010--  9 miles good clip @ 6;05-6:10 ish.  Felt really comfortable, and fluid.  Course on rolling hills. 

I am putting together a dog sled race to benefit the Tarahumara, raramuri is looking good.  im hoping the city approves it.  Send those prayers and good vibes that way!! thank you!! Hope everyones run is good! 

 

 11/1/2010--  easy 10 miler today.  Felt great! weather is def getting colder in the mornings.

 

11/2/2010--  8 miles rolling hills.  Great to get the legs moving for sure.  Need a low miles week before next week.

 

11/3/2010-- 8 Mile threshold run! felt really strong today.  I went pretty hard and held it.  went up some pretty big hills, and ran over those like I was flyin' I love that feeling! Great day!!  felt pleased with it.  I forgot to mention that after evey run is followed by drills and core work. 

 

11/4/2010-- 9 miles really felt good.  kept the pace fluid.  Working on form for the majority of the run.  Stoked for XC Nats in feb.

 

11/5/2010-- 9 miles good clip! Felt great! More like a threshold run, out in Round valley pretty hilly out there, so it was def a great challenge.

 

11/6/2010-- 10 miles great clip! I felt great smooth and fluid so that was great.  My wife might be having our baby soon, so things have been exciting! Every time im out for a run, I feel a little anxious about leaving...but I have to get the work done.  All of my runs end with drills, core, and gym.  I'll include that from now on

 

11/7/2010--  8 miles today weather is getting cold for sure. good nonetheless.  run followed by core, were I'll usually go for 10-12 min of abs.  I'll switch every minute.  Ex: cherry pickers 1 min, regular crunches 1min, row boats 1 min etc.

 

11/8/2010-- Took today off, and read that Haile G is thinking of hanging up the spikes...kinda sad and down about that... but he has done SO many great things in this sport.  He would leave on top of the world.

 

11/9/2010 -- 8 miles steady.  so FREAKIN COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and its only the start.... abs and strength work after.

 

11/10/2010-- Solid 10 miles felt so good!!! Abs and core/drills.  Great run

11/13/2010-- Great run today.  Just went out to enjoy the scenery and feeling different as a daddy...crazy thought haha.  

Solid 8 miles! great to come home to my boy!!!

 

11/14/2010--  Good 8 miler today.  It is for sure getting cold out here.  Love running in the our new neighborhood.  Our house sets on awesome acres for our dogs.  Everywhere around is pure horse property, farm land.  The view of the huge snow caped mountains is always an eye-opener.  Love it here.  everything about this place is a runners paradise!

My baby boy is getting bigger and bigger! I love my boy! It's the best feeling coming home after a cold run to see my baby!

 

11/15/2010--  Good day today solid 8 miles feeling fresh for sure! Gonna hit the track soon.  Sometimes I get really paranoid thinking I am gonna get some IT Band issues due to the weather change.  But all is good, and I pray I stay healthy for Feb.  

 

11/16/2010--  good 9miles in fierce wind/snow.  Felt good tho! I kinda like running through weather like that for sure! Good things to come my friends!

 

11/17/2010--  Solid 9 miles @ 5:20 pace.  felt really smooth and fluid.  Had a couple of really good hills but great run for sure.

 

11/18/2010-- Good 8 miles.  Nice clip.  Really windy today but it felt good.  again, all core work and drills done after runs! 

 

11/19/2010-- Today was a solid 9 mile threshold run! felt really fluid and smooth.  I was averaging 5:10-5:15 pace then I was able to squeeze a little more at the end.  I tried to keep it steady and fluid.  

 

11/20/2010-- Today was a good 9.5 miles, and it was COLD!!!! I ran passed a sign next to the road.  It had measured about 45 mph winds... yeah that sucked, but gotta get the work done.  I am feeling pretty fit and hoping for a great showing in Feb!

 

11/22/2010-- today was just a nice 8 miler.  I its getting freakin cold out there! Today was the first official day of the sled dogs! good run today for sure.  They all did well today and looking forward to a good season with the dogs, and as I prep for XC nats in Feb! Have two maybe three indoor races planned out.  So I am way stoked about that!

12/01/10-- Today was a good 9 miles, felt really good and relaxed.  Im slowly going to add more quality to my workouts, and may increase the mileage. Drills and core.

 

12/02/2010-- 8 miles relaxed and drills and core 

 

12/03/2010-- 10 miles good clip felt great, and relaxed.  Drills and core.

 

12/04/2010-- Today was a good smooth 9 miles.  felt pretty good.  nothing to serious.  Drills and core.

 

12/05/2010--  Today was a solid 9.5 miles great clip.  All on hilly course.  Im feeling really fit and feeling like these distances are getting easier.  Cant wait to hit the track on Tue.  Drills and core

 

12/06/2010-- Today was a good 9 miles.  Felt good and relaxed.  Just getting out there hitting the miles getting stronger and feeling fit.  

Getting the miles feels good.  I pray I can stay healthy and fit for Feb, and on.

 12/07/2010-- Today was a solid run.  I ran 9.5 miles really good clip on hilly course.  Really great threshold run.  Drills and core

12/10/2010--  8 miles fast clip on hilly course.  Felt good and smooth. Drills and core  

 

12/11/2010--  Today was a good run.  We're starting to get busy with dog sled tours, and they def put an ass kicking in for the day.  

I leave out half of my workouts on here just to feel like I have some more edge than what I write down online...but today was def an ass kicking morning, then back for 8 miles.

 

12/12/2010-- Today was a solid 8 miles, on hilly course.  Drills and core

 

12/13/2010-- 9 mile tempo, felt solid and relaxed.  drills and core.

 

12/14/2010--  AM: solid morning session.

2 mile warm. drills. 1*mile, 5*800 m @ 2:18-20, 1 400@ 64.  1.5 mile cool. drills and core.

really tired from my morning, but I felt really relaxed during my workout, really comfortable.  

 

12/15/2010-- 8 miles comfortable, pace. really cold outside for sure. Drills and core. 

 

12/16/2010--  10 miles good clip! Drills and core.  Dog sledding season is going GREAT as well!

 

12/17/2010--  7 mile tempo run.  felt great! feeling pretty fit.  Drills and core.

 

12/18/2010-- 10 mile threshold run.  very solid.  I felt great!  Drills and core.  

 

12/19/2010-- 9 miles good clip.  drills and core.

 

12/20/2010--  am: 5 miles snowy path, xc in snow great run for sure.  Great for threshold. Drills and core.
